FBI Makes Large Fentanyl Bust in Massachusetts

At least 8 million doses were in heart-shaped candies.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation seized more than 220 pounds of drugs and arrested three in a bust in Massachusetts last week. The drugs were in the basement of a multi-family home where families with children were living on the first floor.

Of the ten million doses seized, eight million were reportedly fentanyl and amphetamine-laced, with a street value of more than $8 million. Many of the fentanyl-laced pills were shaped like Valentine’s Day pink candy hearts.

“This seizure by the FBI’s North Shore Gang Task Force saved lives in communities throughout Massachusetts,” FBI Director Christopher Wray said. “Not only was this seizure one of the largest in the history of Massachusetts but some of the pills were created to look like candy, potentially presenting an enormous risk to children.”

Attorney General Merrick Garland said, “The only thing more depraved than trafficking deadly fentanyl is trafficking deadly fentanyl designed to look like candy to appeal to teenagers. The Justice Department is focused on attacking every link in the global fentanyl trafficking chain, and we will not stop until those responsible for the fentanyl poisoning epidemic are brought to justice.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Attorney General Garland to seek God’s guidance as he heads the Justice Department.
  • For discernment for FBI Director Wray as he oversees operations to stop drug trafficking.
